Community Profile

This community is all about the world of The Lord of the Rings, Middle Earth. This includes: the Hobbit, the Unfinished Tales, and the Similarion.

Welcome to Middle Earth is a community where you can come and show off your shiny fan fiction (or art :D) and participate in events like: small gift exchanges (if membership is strong enough), prompt parties, discussions, etc. Basically, a place to have fun.


Rules: (Because without them there would be chaos and Loki would visit from Marvel and Myth to destroy us all)
1. You may write or draw about any of the official works pertaining to Middle Earth. This means if you want to write about the Valar, or about the journey to the Lonely Mountain, or about the Blue Wizards, then go ahead! :D But be warned. RPF is another matter entirely. It is only acceptable if you obtain permission from the comm's admin and even then, only under extreme scrutiny. This isn't to burst your creative bubble. If you want to say, write a fic about Aragorn being an actor in the film, then go ahead!
2. Have fun! (Maybe that should have been rule number 1...)
3. When posting a fic please follow the basic formatting rules. (Look under .format in the tags)
4. No spam. End of story.
5. Be nice to each other. This means that if you read something that isn't your cup of tea, then don't be a jerk about it. Constructive criticism is helpful, but telling someone that their work "sucks" is just a way to get a strike on our three strike warning system.
6. If you would like to start an event, message the admin with a proposal and we will see about starting one.

If there becomes the need for new rules, they shall be posted in the Comm so that everyone can be made aware of them. Hopefully, we won't need anymore. This isn't meant to be some big uptight community. It is meant to be a place where we can come together, have fun, and explore. Let us all strive to do so responsibly! :D
